Volunteering

Orkney Athletic & Running Club is run primarily by Volunteers. The success of the Club now and in the future relies upon the goodwill of our club members, their families and our local community.

We need support from parents/adults to ensure that the Club continues to cater for our growing number of athletes.

The Club welcomes and values all volunteers, providing support and training and trying to give volunteers experiences which match their talents, interests and lifestyles.

The following list highlights the main areas where help is regularly needed. Please tick ‘yes’ for all those which you feel you could help with, or which you would be willing to be contacted about for further discussion.

Gift Aid

Orkney Athletic and Running Club (OARC) is a registered charity. Membership fees are treated as voluntary donations and are used to support the essential running costs of the Club. Gift Aid will be claimed by the Club on membership fees where the declaration has been completed. This means the Club can receive an additional 25p from HMRC for every £1 of membership paid. Gift Aid is reclaimed by the charity from HMRC – you don’t need to do anything other than tick the box below and complete your details as your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer. Note: gift aid can only be claimed on membership fees that are paid for by the member themselves with the exception of membership fees purchased for a child (under the age of 18) which can be accepted.
